Irresistible Me Moonstone Steam Curler Review
Before
The Irresistible Me Moonstone Automatic Steam Curler is very easy to use because it does all the work for you. It usually takes me about an hour to curl my hair using a traditional curling iron. With the Moonstone curler, it takes about 30 minutes.

I like that it feels lightweight in the hand and it's very safe to use. The curler has gotten close to my temples before and it didn't burn my skin! It also automatically shuts off in 60 minutes. The anti-tangle sensor is also a very handy function. If the curler gets too close to the scalp or if you pick up too much hair, it'll make a beeping sound and will stop the curling process to ensure that your hair does not get tangled. There's also an opening that allows you to pour in your hair treatment products, such as a heat protectant spray, which activates when you use the steamer function.

The curler heats up fast and has 3 time settings, including 8 seconds, 10 seconds and 12 seconds with audio beep indicators. The longer you leave your hair inside the curl chamber, the more defined the curls will be. The 8 seconds setting has 4 beeps, 10 seconds has 5 beeps and 12 seconds has 6 beeps. It would have been more convenient if there was just one beep to indicate when the curling process is done. There are also 3 temperature settings, including 380 degrees, 410 degrees and 450 degrees. (I use the 12 seconds and 450 degrees setting.)

The curl direction setting allows you to choose either a uniform or natural finish. When styling the left and right sides of the hair, use the left and right settings alternatively. This will ensure that the curl sits towards the face on both sides of the head, giving a more uniform style. For a more natural look, select the auto setting, which will alternate the direction after each curl. (I use the left setting for the right side of my hair and the right setting for the left side of my hair.)

Tips:
  • Make sure hair is clean, combed and dry.
  • Work only a small piece of hair at a time (about 1 inch).
  • Don't position the curler too close to your scalp.
  • Release the handles fully before pulling the curler away from the head. (If you pull the curler away before opening the handles, then the curl will be straightened out.)
  • For a voluminous finish, allow the curls to set before running your fingers through your hair.
  • Finish styling with a few sprays of Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Harder to ensure that the curls and volume last all day.
