I've been searching for a brush to apply my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder (review & swatches) because it would sometimes look blotchy when I use basically every brush in my arsenal. My theory is that those brushes may either be too dense or not fluffy enough.
Chocolate Soleil is one of the best matte bronzing powders in the market. I just had to find the right brush to apply it with. I went to Target and grabbed the Sonia Kashuk Blusher brush. It reminds me of the Mac 129, which I saw at the Estee Lauder Company Store. It was scratchy, so I didn't buy it.
Back to the Sonia Kashuk Blusher Brush: It looks like a traditional powder brush, and can be used for that purpose, but I bought it to apply my Too Faced bronzer. It's so soft and fluffy, and the best part is that it applies the bronzer fabulously without any blotchiness. It did shed some hairs when I washed it the first time, which is normal, but it hasn't shedded since. Also, there is no weird smell or dye bleeding.
I would be 100% satisfied if the head of the brush was a teeny tiny bit smaller, but other than that, I am happy with the purchase. I am only complaining about the size because it can be a little bit too big for the cheek area if I'm not careful.
It costs $17.99 and is sold only at Target and the online store. The price may be a little bit too high, considering it's a drugstore brand, but it's worth it to me because I haven't found any other brush that applies my Too Faced bronzer without it looking blotchy.
Sonia Kashuk brushes has not failed me yet. Even if you already found your perfect blush/bronzer brush, you should still stop by Target and check out some of her other brushes from the professional line, but beware, the brushes with the white handle are a little bit scratchy.
